Inspired by a love for coffee roasting and dedicated to creating the perfect coffee experience.

Dark Moon Coffee Roasters is a local born & raised family owned business in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV. We started Dark Moon 5 years ago with the mission of serving the best coffee in Las Vegas. With accolades from Food & Wine Magazine naming our coffee shop Best in Nevada we have set out to do just that.

Our dedication to the perfect cup starts with looking to source the best coffee we can find and roasting those coffees to bring out its full potential. Our roaster is on most days of the week for our cafe, cold brew program & wholesale partners!

Dark Moon has a heavy focus cold brew coffee, we have a dedicated approach to each and every cold brew coffee batch we do. At our cafe we always have 3 different cold brew options on tap in additional to 4+ cold brew coffee ready-to-drink cans in our retail fridge & in the local Nevada Whole Foods Market!

With Dark Moon being dedicated to the details, we make sure to pair our coffee with ingredients that elevate everything we serve. From crafting our syrups in-house to hand selecting what milks we use for all of our beverages, our thoughtful approach with the end goal of creating the best product that we can.

We also love beer, in addition to rotating 3beers on tap(light,IPA & sour) from local favorites to great breweries from around the country, we also enjoy partnering with breweries to elevate their coffee beers & help innovate new ones.

Meet The Founder

Dark Moon Coffee Roasters is locally owned and operated by Kyle Porterfield. Kyle deep roots into the community being born & raised in Henderson, NV. Kyle is an alumni of the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada Las Vegas & also has vast hospitality experience within Forbes 5 star hotels such as the Wynn Las Vegas for over 8 years. This experience was led to create Dark Moon Coffee Roasters to showcase the quality, art, & hospitality of what coffee can be. When Kyle is not working, he enjoys grabbing a beer at the local brewery, traveling with his wife & son to new places, or trying to fit in a round of golf!

Cold Brew Coffee

We focus on making the best cold brew period. Small batch & taste testing along the process has given us the ability to make some of the most crisp, refreshing & tasty cold brew coffee we have experienced. By brewing with cold water & utilizing our Brew Bomb equipment we are able to achieve this feat. The coffee we feature is always going to be the same single origins we offer on the shelf, showcasing how great cold brew can be. We make sure to feature 4+ ready-to-drink cold brew coffee cans that you can enjoy at home, work or on the go!

Coffee Roaster

We roast our coffee on a Loring S15 Falcon. We have found after upgrading from a Diedrich IR-12 to a Loring that our coffee has improved not only in quality but also longevity. Our coffee, pairing well to be brewed in any method gives us & you the ability to brew our coffee in any parameter that you chose, showcasing that coffee can be brewed in many different formats! In our store we feature 6-10 different origin specific coffee bags on our retail shelf.

Craft Beer & Spirits

We offer beer at our coffee shop, giving a change of pace to experience our space! We source from our local breweries in addition to some of our favorites across the country. We have 3 dedicated draft beer lines that are rotated often to have a lighter, IPA & sour option. With our love of beer, we look to parter with breweries to do collaborations, the most recent ones include Able Baker, Lovelady & Crafthaus. We have currently done over 20 different collaborations and are always pushing the limit to how coffee can influence beer.

Clover Sonoma Organic Milk

We found that Clover Sonoma milk based out Sonoma County, California is the absolute best milk to pair with our coffee. No sacrificing quality on the journey to produce the best lattes that pair perfectly with our espresso & housemade syrups.

Minor Figures and Pacific Foods

Our alternative milks give non-dairy drinkers the option to enjoy our milk based drinks with their choice of oat or almond milk. We use Minor Figures for oat milk and Pacific Foods for our Almond Milk.

Soul Chai

Soul Chai is based out of Portland, Oregon. Their chai spice blend is perfect for Dark Moon, we custom batch this chai to create the perfect amount of sweetness & spice for your chai based beverages!

Art of Tea

We have partnered with Art of Tea based out of Los Angeles. Their varieties of tea gave us the ability to feature 6 of their loose leaf hot teas and 3 of their loose leaf iced teas. All of our hot teas are made to order, we steep the tea as a part of our service so when you get your teas you don’t have to do a thing but enjoy it.
